Letters: Welcome to the 2017 QBE Shootout

On behalf of the PGA TOUR, I would like to welcome you to the 2017 QBE Shootout. Founded in 1989 by World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman, the 29th QBE Shootout features a unique two-player team format that has one again attracted many of the world’s most prominent players in 2017.

In 2016, and for the second time in four years, the team of Matt Kuchar and Harris English took top honors, besting Steve Stricker and Jerry Kelly by a stroke at 28-under 188. Matt and Harris return looking to become the first duo to win the QBE Shootout three times.

The 2017 event marks the first under the title sponsorship of QBE Insurance, an industry leader in general insurance and reinsurance and headquartered in Sydney, Australia. I would like to thank both QBE and Greg Norman for their partnership with the QBE Shootout, and for their support of the PGA TOUR’s commitment to charity. Over the last 28 years, the QBE Shootout has raised more than $13 million for a variety of charities, including CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, the tournament’s primary charity.

I would like to express my thanks to all the volunteers for their hard work and dedication over the years. We also appreciate the enthusiasm and support from the local community, which has always played a vital role in the success of the QBE Shootout.

I hope that you will enjoy this exciting week of golf.

Sincerely,

Jay Monahan
