One of the best things about a new year is the opportunity it provides us to look back, look ahead, and adopt new perspectives. That might include an attitude adjustment toward your golf game, a swing change, or a new driver.
In the magazine world, we view the January issue as a place to introduce new columns, and to improve on the tried and true. As you flip through the pages of this issue, you’ll notice several changes.
First off, our TroonFIT page (page 10) is on hip mobility, written by one of Under Armour’s most dynamic instructors, Trevor “T.A.” Anderson. Anderson is a member of the Under Armour Training Team, a group of 15 top fitness professionals around the world whose goal is to make you more fit for golf and life. Look for three such columns from Trevor in 2018.
Next, you’ll find a new department (page 20) called TroonCONNECTS, which describes the player benefits of a new partnership between Troon, Shark Experience, and Verizon. The program, first being rolled out at Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida, and The Westin Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, involves golf carts that are connected with not just GPS but also with optional pre-recorded and live content. More to come throughout the year on that.
We are also debuting a new regular department called “Stars of Tomorrow” in partnership with Golfweek. This section – focusing on Vanderbilt’s Will Gordon (page 26) this issue – will highlight outstanding players on the collegiate and junior levels who golf fans are likely to see on the major tours in years to come. A strong suit of Golfweek, “Stars of Tomorrow” doubles down on Troon’s support of golf at all levels of play.
I hope you continue to enjoy Troon Golf & Travel throughout 2018. It’s our pleasure and honor to bring it to you. As always, I’m, happy to hear your thoughts
